Stunning autumn colour. This tree, native to Iran, is renowned for its superb autumn colour, even in a mild climate like Ireland's, as well as its mottled, peeling bark. It is a spreading tree, often as tall as it is wide, when mature, and is suitable for medium to larger gardens only. Persian ironwood grow best in well drained but moist soil, never waterlogged, as a specimen or as part of a woodland scheme. Height and spread can be 8-10 m when mature. Irish-grown plants, 2 litre container, 40-50 cms tall.
