Rowan, Mountain ash, an Caorthann

Price: €40.00
Current stock: 6

The Rowan or Mountain ash has white flower-clusters in spring & red leaves and berries in the autumn. Ideal for small gardens or at the margins of natural woodland gardens, growing best in moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or light shade. Copes well with the conditions of city gardens and also in rocky, well-drained sites with thin soil. The berries are very popular with birds. Prefers a slightly acidic soil. Considered by the early Irish to be a lucky tree, a branch hung in the house was said to prevent fire. An ideal hedgerow plant, or around the boundary of a new property.  Container grown, 200-250cms tall plants. (A)
