An early variety of rhubarb that, when forced, can be picked as early as February. Plant in sunny, fertile and well-drained soil and only harvest one or two stems in the first year so that the plant can gain in strength. Rhubarb is prolific, easily grown and very tasty. The leaves are poisonous, so do not cook these with the stems. Best cooked with a knob of butter, a good few spoonfuls of brown sugar and no water other than a few drops which may cling to the stem after washing. Put on a low-medium heat with the lid on. To 'force', simply place a large bucket or pot over the plant in winter and harvest in late spring. 3L pot. Please note, items displayed on this website may not be available in each of our shops.
