Bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) are evergreen shrubs which are often used as formal accent plants. Our plants are Belgian-grown, superior quality and in very good health. This plant is certified to be 10 years old. This is sold as a '1 and a 1/4 standard', ie a 120cms tall stem with a 60-65cms wide ball on top, total height 180 cms (approx dimensions). Bay can be clipped as cones, hedges or, as shown here, as 'standards' (ie with a clear stem and a ball above). Excellent for pots or in the ground, they should be clipped annually. If in pots, be sure to water and feed regularly and to plant in a quality compost such as John Innes no 3 mixed with multipurpose  compost, both available from us. Maintained correctly, they can last for many years. The leaves can be used in soups and stews. Suitable for sun or shade. Various sizes and heights available. Please note, items displayed on this website may not be available in each of our shops.
