Arbutus unedo 'Rubra' / Strawberry tree
Couldn't load pickup availability
A small to medium-sized evergreen tree with heather-like small flowers and round, red-orange fruit. The red fruit looks vaguely like a strawberry and is edible but not very tasty. This is a garden variety of one of the more exotic native Irish trees - which grows wild in south western parts of Ireland. This variety has pink instead of white flowers. It makes an unusual garden plant and can be seen occasionally in gardens in the Dublin area. It requires neutral to acidic soil. Beautiful red bark as the plant matures. For moist to well-drained soil in coastal counties. Flowers are attractive to bees.
Irish grown plants, 100-125cm in height.
Because of the size and weight of this item, we can only deliver this item in County Dublin.
