Born in Paris in 1819, she studied under the landscape painter Alexandre Defaux. She frequently worked \u003cem\u003een plein air\u003c\/em\u003e (ie in the open) around Montigny-sur-Loing and the Forest of Fontainbleu. She specialised in romantic, pastoral and rural scenes. Records from the Museée D'Orsay show that she exhibited in Paris during her lifetime, with a studio address at 6, Rue Choron in the vibrant Montmartre arrondissement of Paris.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e38 x 55cm excluding frame.
