Cercis 'Forest Pansy' / Red bud

An unusual and elegant small tree, a favourite tree for some of our cutomers. This small to medium sized tree is multi-stemmed and rounded in shape, most recognisable for its dark red, heart-shaped foliage. It has dark pink pea-like flowers in late spring. Suitable for most soil types, for sun to light shade, ideally out of exposed or windy locations. Allow it to grow to its natural shape, and mulch around the base with bark mulch, leaf mould or home-made compost, which will keep the soil fertile and healthy.
