David Austin roses are healthy, relaible and easy to grow, often with fantastic fragrance and always with gorgeous flowers. Bred by the celebrated English breeder David Austin since the 1950s.

Gertrude Jekyll produces clusters of beautiful, strongly scented pink flowers. It can be grown as a bushy shrub or trained as a medium-sized climber. Grows up to 150cm when grown as a free-standing shrub or up to 250cm when trained as a climber. David Austin roses prefer a bright location with a minimum of four hours of sunlight per day. Enrich the soil before planting with well-rotted manure or Gee-up, and plant to a depth that just covers the soil from the pot. Prune in winter to remove old or woody shoots, as well as any that are damaged or dead.

Our David Austin roses are sold in large containers with 7.5 litres of compost. They can be planted year round, except when the ground is frozen solid. The traditional time of year to plant them is between November and April.

Plants are generally available in our Monkstown shop. Because of its size and weight, this plant can only be delivered in County Dublin. Delivery is in our own van, to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
