We meet with Maria once or twice per year and make a selection from her own personal archives. We get these pieces expertly framed with acid free, archival materials and low-reflection, UV protective glass, using the frame type and mount colour that she prefers for these works. These pieces are all in perfect condition, having been carefully stored away from light since they were made. Most of them date from the 1980s and 1990s.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMuch of Maria Simonds-Gooding's output has focussed on the coastal areas of Kerry and around the Blasket Islands. She has been described as \"one of Ireland's foremost painters and printmakers to have emerged since the Sixties\". Her etchings and paintings are instantly recognisable and highly collecteible.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMaria Simonds-Gooding is represented in many collections, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. She had a major retrospective in the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) in 2014, is a member of Aosdána. Some of her works will be appearing in the National Gallery of ireland in an upcoming exhibition focussing on the landscape of the west of Ireland.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNumbered (Artist's Proof), titled and signed at base.
