Pinus wallichiana / Bhutan pine
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Bhutan pine is a gorgeous tree that can grow into a large, billowy specimen. Long needles make it quite different from most other pines. There are some mature specimens growing in Mount Usher gardens in Co Wicklow and also in the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. Native to the Himalayas and Bhutan, it prefers well-drained soil that is neutal to acid. This plant can grow into a large tree, but would also be suitable for a large container on a balcony or terrace. It benefits from shelter from strong winds. As will all pines, it is evergreen. Irish-grown plants are 40-50cm in height in 3 litre containers.
Generally in stock in our Monkstown shop. This plant can be shipped nationwide.
