Coming out of winter and into spring, our customers start to move away from woody plants, wanting much needed 'colour' in the garden. Although it's actually a great time to plant trees and shrubs, it's natural to start focussing on flowers to brighten these dreary days; hellebores, camellias, pulmonarias, spring bulbs such as snowdrops, anemone and fritillaria, alpines such as Aubretia, Arabis and Saxifraga are already coming into bloom. While the soil is starting to warm up a little, rainfall is still in abundance and there is a glimmer of heat in the sun, it is a good time to plant trees and shrubs.
