Last year, the Festival of Gardens & Nature came out of the blue, being the most stimulating and enjoyable gardeninging event of the year. Located in the magical grounds of Ballintubbert House, a beautifully conceived and maintained series of garden rooms, nesteled in the rich and bucolic landscape or rural County Laois.
Catherine FitzGeralnd and Minnie Jellett pulled together a stellar selection of speakers from around the world, all of them pioneers or experts in their field. With topics ranging from soil health to floristry, wildlife conservation to garden history, we all left with renewed enthusiasm for our crafts. It was also a beautifully relaxad and enjoyable occasion, a place for old friends to reconnect and for new friendships to begin.
This year, 2025, they have assembled and equally impressive line-up, of horticultural 'celebrities', experts, thinkers and doers in the world of gardening and nature. The weather forecast is good, and we really can't wait to be there.
We will be giving a 'How to" demonstration on choosing the correct plants for your home, as well as tips on keeping them helthy and even how to propagate them. This is from 12.00 to 1.00 on Sunday. Join us!
We will also be there with many of the polular items from our shops, including professional garden tools from Niwaki, DeWit, Sneeboer, Felco, ARS etc, as well as a good selection of indoor plants and gardan-related 'accessories' that we are well known for.
We are the official book sellers at the festival, so we will have an extensive selection of garden and nature-related books, including books by many of the speakers. See you there!
