Dolly Robinson, (1901-1977), A Road In Wicklow
Dolly Robinson was born Dorothy Travers Smith in Dublin in 1901, becoming Dolly Robinson after her marriage to Lennox Robinson in 1931. Having studied in the Chelsea College of Arts in London, she initially worked in theatre on costume and set design, working primarily in the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
She was part of the 'artistic set' of Dublin in the 1930 and 1940s, including WB Yeats and the Yeats family. She exhibited with the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1936 and with the Irish Exhibition of Living Art in 1943.
