We find it hard to work out the era of this painting. It could be anywhere from early 19th century up to early 20th century. Unfortunately, there is no signature to identify the artist. In any case, it is an intriguing painting, showing a 'heightened' version of the landscape. Foliage has been stylised, with each leaf picked out in detail, with mountains and valleys somehow steeper and deeper than seems possible.
Oil on canvas. Canvas size 37cm x 50cm. Newly re-framed. Some cracking to paint consistent with age.
