Claude Sebastien Hugard (1818-1886), Mount Etna

View of Mount Etna, Sicily, by French 19th century artist Claude Sebastian Hugard. Hugard is best known for dramatic landscapes and seascapes. The scene shows the snow-capped peak with the town (probably Catania) stretched along the coast at the base of it.

Signed bottom right. Oil on canvas  61cm x 41cm excluding frame.
