Sydney Mary Thompson (1847-1923), Shaw's Bridge on the Lagan above Belfast

Charming watercolour depicting a young woman on a pastoral riverbank. A horse grazes on the opposite bank. Sydney Mary Thompson was a prominent Northern Irish geologist and leading member of the Belfast Field Club. She also studied art in Belfast and London and became a patron of the Belfast Art Society.

Carefully re-mounted in the original frame with archival quality mount and backing boards. Excellent condition with small amount of foxing to the paper.
