Feargus O'Neill, Bridge near Glendalough, Co Wicklow, 1904

Atmospheric view of a moonlit valley depicting a full moon, a wooded riverbank, a three-arched bridge and church buildings. Well executed, it's a shame that we don't know anything more about the artist. The signature is clear but still hard to be exact about. To us it reads as 'Feargal O'Neill' though it could be 'Seamyus O'Neill' On the backing board is written the following:

Poteen Augus Moon (Poteen and the moon (Moonshine), Nr Glendalough, Co Wicklow, Eire.

Signed and dated 1904 bottom left. Watercolour on paper. 36 x 30cm excluding frame. In fine condition in original frame and mount.
