A view of Killiney Hill, as seen over the rooftops from one of DunLaoghaire's Victorian terraces, most likely Clarinda Park. A shadow, possibly a woman, can be detected in the interior of the house. Killiney Hill obelisk, set against the skyline, is a small but intruiging focal point.
George Pottter was an American-born painter who lived in Ireland from 1971 until his death in 2017. Much of his output dealt with his immediate surroundings, and indeed this scene is only a few minutes walk from his nearby home and studio. He was a member of the RHA and exhibited with them regularly. He had solo shows with the Taylor Galleries.
Oil on Fabriano. Signed bottom right. Image size approx 102 x 65cm. Newly reframed in an accurate reproduction of Potter's original frame style from the Taylor Galleries, with archival mount and UV protecting, non-reflective glass
Artworks can be viewed and purchased in our Clare Street shop. If ordered online, delivery is €20.00 nationwide (Ireland). Overseas shipping is available on request.
