After Grégoire Mathias visited our shop on Clare Street, he produced this 'dichronic cubist' painting that encasulates our shop through plants, architecture, literary history and art.

Grégoire Mathias (born 1967) is French artist who has exhibited and sold around the world, including the USA and throughout Europe. Trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, he has also worked as a sculptor, engraver and poster artist. His style is influenced by French artists such as Braque and Picasso, as well as earlier Modernists such as André Lhote and Albert Gleizes. Like Picasso, Miro and Chagall before him, he has designed posters for the United Nations (WFUNA), including their 75th Anniversary in 2021.

Acrylic on canvas. 40x40cm. Framed in black wooden box frame.
