Myra Kathleen Hughes was an Irish artist who was a prominent and hightly regarded etcher. Like many women artists of that era, she trained and studied abroad. She exhibited in Dublin at the RHA and also in London. Her work is held in collections of Trinity College Dublin, the National Gallery in Dublin as well as the British Muuseum in London. This work was made in early years of the 1900s and exhibited in 1907.
Etching, 28 x 18cm approx. Titled bottom right 'BOTANY BAY TCD' and initialled in shamrock form bottom right.
