The Abbey Theatre poster for Red Roses for Me, the play by Sean O'Casey, by renowned artist Gerard Dillon (1916 - 1971). The play opened on 31st July 1967. In the late 1960s, artists Arthur Armstrong, George Campbell and Gerard Dillon worked on production designs for the Abbey Theatre. Reopening in 1966, it had been closed sice it was destroyed by fore in 1951. This is a rare original coloured print, framed under glass. In an Abbey Theatre production of O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock, the programme noted that "the posters sprang from the belief that artists should be closely identified with all artistic efforts in the country'.
