Early 20th century watercolour depicting a peaceful lakeshore and heather-blooming bog. Sheep graze and a few duck or grouse take flight in the distance.
Reginald Sherrin was and English painter, best known for his moorland and coastal scenes, mainly painted around Devon and Cornwall. He was the son of the well-known landscape artist Daniel Sherrin. Whether or not this painting was painted in Ireland or England is unclear: the landscape of Cornwall could well be the landscape of some parts of Ireland.
Watercolour on paper. Signed R. Sherrin 1919, lower right. Image size 49 x 24cm, framed size 63 x 39cm. In the original frame, in excellent condition.
