Signed 'E.B', Sailing off the Coast

Probably Irish, late 19th or early 20th century, oil painting on canvas depicting boats off a rocky coastline. Dramatic sky with fast-moving clouds. A red-sailed sailing or fishing boat in the distance. Rocks with maritime vegetation in the foreground.

Although anonymous, this is a fine piece of work that manages to capture movement and light with great skill. Signed with initials that look to us like "E.B."  Reframed by us with black wooden frame with some gold.

Oil on canvas (re-lined). 45.5 x 35.5 cm. On display and for sale in our Clare Street shop in Dublin.
