A little, lost corner of Dublin by the engraver William Whelan. This flight of steps was demolished at some point in the 1950s.  The Camac is a small river that runs through this part of Dublin, joining the Liffey. We know little about the artist William L. Whelan, but we know that many of his works were destroyed in the fire at the Royal Hibernian Academy on Abbey Street, which burned down in 1916.

25 x 20cm, excluding frame. Signed and titled at the base. Newly framed with acid-free materials and oak and lime frame. Artist address on reverse.

Artworks can be viewed and purchased in our Clare Street shop. Overseas shipping is available on request.
