Acacia dealbata/ Mimosa / Wattle
A small or medium sized, delicate looking tree that is most prized for its yellow flowers in late winter and spring, as well as its evergreen grey-green, fern-like leaves. The flowers are small fragrant, fluffy balls which create a burst of colour in early spring. It is best grown in a sheltered location, somewhere sunny, well-drained and preferably in a mild area without severe frosts. Around Dublin, trees can grow up to 4 metres in height and generally keep an upright, single-stemmed shape. These trees can blow over in strong winds, so ideally they will be protected from these. The crown can be kept trimmed, which keeps them compact and encourages sturdiness. Suitable for a small or medium sheltered garden.
Irish-grown plants, 175-200cm tall, 15 litre pot.
Generally available in our Monkstown shop. Due to the size and weight of this plant, it can only be delivered in County Dublin.
