This series of small, intricate and very beautiful collages is made from paper, paint, ink and other materials such as gold leaf. Each captures the essence of plants, gardens and nature. Most pieces feature one of her trademark jugs, fruit bowls or chairs. The colours are powerful and rich, with various overlapping and interwoven layers and textures. Caroline Canning is a Dublin artist whose work encompasses still life and landscapes. She is well known for her illustrated notebooks, with almost daily drawings featuring her daily life. These form a major part of her output and her exhibitions.
