Estella Solomons (1882-1968) came from a well known Dublin Jewish family. She initially trained at the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art, then with Walter Osborne and William Orpen and also in Paris. She was elected an honorary member of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1966. She was an active republican, member of Cumann na mBan, was politically active during the Irish war of independence, worked alongside her husband in the running of The Dublin Magazine, and later became a teacher at Bolton Street.

Hand printed by Patrick Hickey in June 1970, exhibited in 'Etchngs and Paintings by Estella Solomons' Frederick Gallery, Dublin, October 200, catalogue no. 26. Catalogue no. 73 from complete etchings, compiled in 1973. Framed in museum quality non reflective glass with acid free archival card.
