Fargesia robusta 'Campbell' / 'Campbell' bamboo
A dense, upright non-invasive clump-forming bamboo that makes a good screening plant up to 3 metres in height. It grows in sun to light light shade and fertile, rich soil. Like most bamboos, it prefers shelter from highly exposed positions. The upright canes are a vivid green, with long thin leaves. Keep watered after planting: a soaker hose is ideal if planting in warm weather. As a hedge / screen, use approx 2 plants per metre. Not suited for a balcony or highly exposed area. If planted in a container, use a substantial pot, plus rich compost that includes soil or John Innes compost. Max height approx 4 metres.
Plants are 140-160cm tall, 7.5 litre pots.
