Pastoral scene of the 'Upper LIffey' painted in 1912. The painting bears the original sticker, with title, on the reverse, from the Dublin Sketching Club Exhibition. Three trees lean over the water and waterbirds paddle about in the calm waters.

Moss lived in Howth and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Watercolour Society of Ireland. He trained at the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin, as well as in London. He travelled extensively in Europe. His paintings are mainly of quiet landcapes, and have a somewhat dreamy quality.

Oil on canvas board. 28.5 x 38.5cm. Signed and dated  with monogram, bottom right. Original 'Dublin Sketching Club Exhibition' on the reverse. Reframed with non-reflective UV protective glass and archival backing board.
