Traditionally used in Japan for harvesting rice, this small, lightweight tool is ideal for cutting back herbaceous plants and grasses. With one hand holding the plant and the other making a pulling motion, it makes light work of cutting down plants at the end of the season. Also useful for clearing grass, bulb foliage or weeds from the base of trees. Especially good at chopping down Phormium. Handle is made from poplar wood, blade is made from serrated carbon steel. Clean and dry after use and wipe with a drop of oil. Only use a pulling motion when using. Made in Japan. Serrated blade is 18cm in length. Total length 34cm. C
