Maria Simonds Gooding, The Day the Dolphin went off with Lobster, Crab & Eel

Maria Simonds-Gooding's work has been centred on the landscape and marine life of Kerry, and in particular the area around the Blasket Islands. She has been described as "one of Ireland's foremost painters and printmakers to have emerged since the Sixties". Her etchings and paintings are instantly recognisable and highly collecteible.

Maria Simonds-Gooding is represented in many collections, including the Irish Museum or Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. She had a major retrospective in the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) in 2014, is a member of Aosdána.
