Mary West, In The Clearing

Painted during the lockdown of of 2019-2020 when Mary and her husband spent almost a year in an isolated area of Donegal. During this period, in a series of paintings, she captured the landscape, roads and architecture within a short distance of her home. These works juxtapose the rugged beauty of the natural landscape with the matter-of-fact human-made elements.

Mary West is a well known Dublin artist whose work has been exhibited and sold in Ireland for several decades.
