Paulownia tomentosa/ Foxglove tree
Couldn't load pickup availability
A tropical looking tree with very large, felted leaves and foxglove-shaped lilac flowers. This large tree grows very fast, up to 2.5m a year when young, and is often used to create shade in gardens. The large leaves grow up to 25cm across, but if the tree is kept small by severely pruning it each year, the leaves can grow even larger. The tubular flowers are held in an upright flowerspike resembling a foxglove shape in spring, but will not be produced if cut back the previous year. Plant in a slightly sheltered position to prevent spring flowers from being affected by hard frosts.
Irish-grown plants, 125-150cm tall in a 5 litre pot.
Generally available in our Monkstown shop. Due to the size and weight of this plant, it can only be delivered in County Dublin.
