Robert Cresswell Boak was a Donegal artist who settled in London in the late 1920s. Prior to that he exhibited a number of times with the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin.
This vibrant, beautifully hand-coloured etching depicts a romanticised version of a 'cabin home' on the west coast of Ireland. Sentimental as it may be, it captures a scene that no doubt existed: a simple thatched cottage, a woman feeding chickens, a parked horse buggy, bales of hay and of course a beautiful west of Ireland landscape in the background.
Coloured etching on paper, 25 x 18cm. Excellent condition. Newly reframed and mounted in the original frame with archival backing board and mount. Signed bottom right.
Artworks can be viewed and purchased in our Clare Street shop. Overseas shipping is available on request.
