Trachelospermum jasminoides / Star jasmine

Flowering evergreen climbing plant for a sunny location. Frequently planted in Dublin gardens along sunny walls, through railings, along fences, where it gives effective evergreen coverage. Hardy against cold, wind and exposure, it turns somewhat red in autum and winter, but is generally fully evergreen.

Strongly perfumed small white flowers in mid to late summer. Leaves turn reddish bronze in autumn. Star jasmine grows best when grown against a bright, sunny wall, fence or trellis, as it requires support. It prefers well-drained soil, and grows equally well in a substantial pot, making it a good plant for balconies, patios, terraces etc. Can also be grown through a small fence or railings to make a glossy evergreen hedge.

For complete coverage on a wall you will need a plant approximately every metre. Ideally, plant directly into the ground. If you are on a terrace or balcony, choose pots of a suitably large size to sustain the plants.

Plants are c 60-70cm in height in a 3.5 litre pot.

• We cannot deliver on specified days. If nobody is home the delivery will be left in a safe place.
